A New Approach

I have often found myself at a fork in the road when it comes to food.  Since I can remember food has been a constant part of my daily thought pattern.  If I am not eating, I am mentally prepping for my next meal or snack.  Over the last few years I have come to realize that it has become a mild obsession.  This obsession has led me to try calorie counting and several other means of portion control.  At times this has been a very debasing experience and I have had lows that have led me to believe I would not find a solution.

This past year has brought me to yet another crossroads.  This blog will address the questions that I have had and continue to encounter.  With all the drama surrounding food and the food industry these days it can be difficult to know what is the best decision.  For me, it has been a question of how might this effect my health.  Will this be detrimental to me in the long run.  With that in mind, I have recently made the decision to only buy organic food.  For reasons that I will further discuss in a later post, I have decided that this best serves my lifestyle.  Since choosing a healthier approach to eating, I have seen some subtle yet important differences in my body.  My digestion has improved and I can see my skin slowly clearing up.  I have also noticed a lot less bloating in my stomach and my weight has finally leveled out.

I am still in the learning process when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle, but this journey has given me some invaluable experiences.  Next week I will get into some of the mistakes I've made along the way and my most recent endeavor.  See you soon.

  1. YES! I want to read more and I can't wait until your next post mostly because I am probably making most of the mistake you're going to talk about. Also, I'm currently chowing down on chicken fried rice from the Chinese restaurant across the street...
